This large Acrylic painting was inspired by a watercolour I did some years ago. I just wanted a painting with a different, fresh approach of an old subject... and in a different medium. it took me some time to get around it as I wanted to also give it a new,more vibrant, dynamic.


As I was painting it, it also reminded me of the fireworks in Malta, so I played on that emotion when painting both the stems (as if the firework was going up!) and the opened flowers,


Although I'm quite happy with the image here, the actual painting is much more alive when you're in front of it, with a lot of movement and colour balance.
